A quick guide to the type and price of property available for sale in Altinkum Turkey

What Type of Property is For Sale in Altinkum?

There is a wide choice of property for sale in Altinkum. Most plentiful are the apartments in Altinkum. When Altinkum first became popular a large number of apartments were built. These were designed in the typical Turkish style and were suitable for both Turkish families and foreign buyers. They were 2 or 3 beds but they were also quite large and ‘roomy’ at between 100 sq mtrs or 120 sq mtrs. Today these apartments change hands at between £35,000 and £45,000 and make excellent holiday or long stay homes. Local council tax equivalent is £30 per year. This is the only property tax so owning property is very cheap.

More recently new ‘holiday village’ developments specifically aimed at foreign buyers have been built. The apartments for sale tend to be smaller, say 80 sq mtrs to 100 sq mtrs. They tend to be priced similarly to the larger traditional properties above. However, the developments can be attractively done with swimming pools and gardens to compensate for reduced size. You will have to pay an annual maintenance fee for this and the security etc. of around £300.

Then there are villas for sale in Altinkum - quad, semi or detached – 3 or 4 or 5 beds – on or off new developments. These range in price from £65,000 for 3 beds to £100,000 for 5 bed villas for sale in Altinkum. You can pay more depending on location and the amount of land. Run down properties can be had for a lot less but then the renovation has to be organised. DIY fans can have a field day.

I purchased a 3 bed semi detached villa on a quite road from the English man next door who had been keeping it as an investment having originally purchased both. I had a completely open mind regarding apartment / villa / 2 or 3 beds. However, when I walked into this one it felt right so I purchased. What I got for my money is amazing by UK standards. Ground floor entrance hall with w/c washroom, kitchen to the left, lounge to the right with balcony overlooking pool. Marble stairs to first floor. First floor landing with bathroom, sliding doors to balcony, 2 large double bedrooms. Marble stairs to second floor. Second floor landing, bathroom, large douible bedroom, sliding doors to large roof terrace and balconies and roof top B-B-Q. Approximately 150 sq mtrs including balconies. Outside there is a tiled, low maintenance garden to side and rear with fruit trees; shared pool to the front. Contact me if you want to know how much I paid but I believe that you can spend more on a luxury caravan in the UK!
