Paphos town centre is host to many well known shops as well as local produce stores and an historic old market place featuring local handcrafts and traditional Cyprus ware. The old town starts with Arch Makarios III Ave, leading you to the covered market via row upon side road of shops, cafes and tavernas stretching up and out to the homemaker?s haven.
Paphos is situated on the Southeast coast of the island, sheltered from the north by the Troodos mountain, Paphos enjoys the healthiest all year-round climate on the Mediterranean. Today Paphos is a very popular coastal sea resort.

Paphos is a multi-cultural destination for thousands of tourists from all four corners of the globe, pretty much twelve months a year. Situated on the west coast, it is where the sun turns into a big red doorknob, as it sets into the Med. It was the birth place of the Goddess Aphrodite, marked by her temple at Kouklia, built by the Mycenaean?s in the 12th century BC.

Today it holds a character that portrays its history, right down to the exquisite mosaics that are among the most beautiful in the world, and some of the worlds largest and richest burial chambers at the Tombs of the Kings, now developed into a tourist area in its own right, as it stretches some 8kms (5 miles) up to Coral Bay.
It is a Brits favourite, so much so that there are over seventeen thousand ex-pats living here.

Paphos is considered the playground of the Gods. It has the islands second international airport. The resort town has a very graphic fishing harbour by Paphos fort, lined with open air cafes and tavernas that serve a tempting menu of the days catch.
It was on Pafos shoreline that the mythological goddess Aphrodite was born a legend that spawned a massive wave of cult worship from neighbouring countries that lasted several centuries. The large rock that juts from the sea is known as Petra tou Romiou.

Kato Paphos and adjacent Tomb of the Kings are the main tourist areas including beaches, shops, tavernas, harbour, historic sites and museums. The area has many 4 and 5* hotels along the beach front together with Apartment complexes and this is the main tourist area.

Kato Paphos harbour with its small fish tavernas makes it a place that everyone has to visit to enjoy the local fish and also to sit and take in the views along the coast or to walk along the causeway. Restaurants, tavernas are in abundance as well as a few night clubs.
The resort town of Polis is overlooking the beautiful Chrysochou Bay with its charming fishing refuge of Latchi. The bay nestles between the Akamas National Park on one side and the Troodos National Parks with its Pine Forests on the other. The relatively virgin state of the countryside and villages make the area a real delight for the walker and naturalist.
