Apokoronas is the smallest but most beautiful region of Chania, located in the northeast of Chania prefecture. The villages that lie inland from the coast retain their character, traditional lifestyle and architecture. Walking through the old narrow streets is like stepping back in time. You will meet them early in the morning on their way to their farms when they go to work the land and feed their animals, and in the middle of the day they will invite you for a glass of wine or a shot of rake in their traditional cafés, usually sitting under the shadow of a huge tree in the village square.
