La Dama de Noche Golf is the first course on the Costa del Sol and in fact Spain to stay open 24 hours a day so the crazy amongst you can play through the night if that is what makes you happy.
Designed by Enrique Canales, the course was opened in 1991 and takes its name from the flowering shrub whose night-time fragrance is said to keep mosquitoes away.
This is a nine hole golf course that can be played as a full eighteen and the big innovation here is the lighting system that enables you to play in darkness and this is strategically placed so as not to cast shadows. It is daylight quality and gives maximum visibility therefore making it easy to find your ball. If you want to play night time then this must be pre-booked and groups must consist of a minimum of players, presently fifteen.
The golf course itself does not have any rough to worry about but merely a river and two lakes that effect play on nearly every hole. It is a relatively short course by modern standards and play seems to keep at a steady pace here and is an interesting test for golfers of all standards.
