Apokoronas is the smallest but most beautiful region of Chania, located in the northeast of Chania prefecture. It is one of the richest regions of Crete in terms of lush vegetation, with mountain regions near the foothills of the White Mountains and coasts in the north side of the island. The Apokoronas province has many small and large villages. The architecture and landscape changes from one village to the next.
