Akbük is a small town on the Western Aegean coast of Turkey. Granted its township in 1991, and with rising prominence in the Aegean property market, Akbük retains all the charm and tranquility of the fishing village it originally was.

Akbük is where the blue meets green, with several stunning bays and coves as the name suggests, and a protected pine forest as a back-drop: it is a small slice of heaven.

Akbük being located where it is, remains largely untouched by the tourism industry, although boat trips and various tours are available from the harbour during the summer months. Or you could relax on one of the many Blue Flag beaches Akbük boasts, with its clear turquoise sea, which is clean, safe and warm.

With an average of 300 sunny days per year you are spoilt for choice as to where to top up your tan. There are several restuarants, cafes and bars in Akbük as well as all the usual amenities such as a doctor, pharmacy, shops and schools. The weekly Market (Bazzar) is held on a Friday, where you can buy all your holiday souveniers such as the famous Turkish carpets or maybe some Turkish Delight.

Akbük is ideally situated only one hour from Bodrum airport, where charted flights are available from most UK operators from April until November. Alternatively flights are available to İzmir airport all year round which is approximately one and a half hours away. Local transport runs every twenty minutes for those who wish to venture further afield: the mini-buses run to various locations the most popular being Altinkum our nearest tourist resort. In Altinkum (meaning Golden Sands) you will find the usual tourist attractions such as water sports during the day, and the dancing boys and fire shows of a night time. Altinkum also features an up and coming marina with many boats docking from all over the world and day trips to some of the Greek Islands such as Kos available.
